Yes. Our firm was contracted to design a traffic signal for this<http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&source=hp&ie=UTF8&q=columbus,+in&fb=1&gl=us&ei=pk-JS5OQEIm0MPbVvcIG&ved=0CBkQpQY&view=map&geocode=FaAqVgIdnPHg-g&split=0&hq=&hnear=Columbus,+Bartholomew,+Indiana&ll=39.208194,-85.924375&spn=0.00175,0.002218&t=k&z=19>intersection.
We asked for permission to consider a roundabout as an alternate solution. Once we presented our findings, the mayor eventually supported the idea and long story short, a roundabout was constructed.
We are very proud of our solution as it is not only the first roundabout for the city of Columbus, Indiana, but it incorporates a RR crossing and one signalized approach to the roundabout pre-empted by the RR (to avoid congesting the roundabout during pre-emption). Dual by-pass lanes were also included which made use of existing roadways. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any aerial photographs.
If helpful, I may be able to get some design files from the civil firm that provided construction drawings.
