Janette Sadik-Khan's TED talk is allabout goingabout introducing change to =
streets in the context of community - isn't that what we're allabout, too?
She makes the points that you can try stuff on the cheap, do it overnight, =
can backtrack if it doesn't work, and data can be useful for evaluating cha=
nges and defending the ones that are successful. We can take heart from he=
r message.

PS - One proviso: I'm generally not a fan of "trial" roundabouts because t=
he demo version is typically ugly to the point of being off-putting, thus l=
oading against the experiment succeeding.
